The tradition of more than hundred and fifty years places TATRA Corporation in Kopřivnice among the oldest car factories in the world. The heavy off-road trucks and the vehicles which are exported to the traditional markets in India, Russia and Europe, but also to other countries all over the world, are regarded as the principal manufacturing program of our company. TATRA, a.s. currently employs almost 2000 people, while the entire TATRA holding, which is the parent company including its subsidiary companies, has approximately 3800 employees. Vehicles bearing the TATRA brand are characterized by their exceptional chassis design, high passing ability through the most difficult terrains, as well as high reliability, which makes them ideal for operation in the hardest terrain and climatic conditions. The trucks are made in four commercial series, including the TERRNo1 and JAMAL civilian vehicles, and the ARMAX and FORCE military vehicles. Also the outstanding results in the automobile competitions demonstrate the excellent driving capabilities of Tatra vehicles. Six-time winner of the hardest long-distance marathon in the world, the well-known Paris-Dakar, Mr. Karel Loprais, fought his way to victories with one of our vehicles. Mr. Tomáš Tomeček regularly takes part in the same competition with a Tatra vehicle. Two years were sufficient for Mr. Stanislav Matějovský, driving a Tatra special vehicle, to acquire the title of the European Champion in the prestigious European Cup of the road towing vehicles in the year 2001. The above-mentioned achievements would never have been possible without the knowledge and the experience of Tatra experts.
